It's begun - it wont start |
|
Morning all,
My D4 has run totally hassle free from new in Sept 2010, however this morning she wont start. Jumped in as normal and the brake pedal is rock solid, so engine doesnt start when button pressed. No fault codes reported, no obvious signs of fluid etc on drive. LRA mannie is on the way but any thoughts appreciated, especially in case its something blindlingly obvious and I'm being an .....
Cheers

AA man is getting no where so looks like its getting recovered to the Stealers, what a pain in the He has no idea, could be a connection to the starter or a bad earth but nothing he can do on the drive. Battery test was all OK. At least I can console myself that its not something stupid I've done.
Anyone car to take a bet on whether or not I get a landy as a hire car?

Aye but when I called LRA this morning it was a choice of an AA man in 30 mins or a LRA tech "sometime later today". Went with the safer option in case it was something obvious. You win some.........

Should be fun recovering if it is stuck in park and the engine wont start.
Wont it get recovered to a LR dealer, who should give you a courtesy car for the first 24hrs, as soon as the dealer confirms it is a warranty job, depending on how long it will be with them, you should get a courtesy car from the warranty team. d4 HSE in Corris Grey with Black options pack

Yes its getting recovered to the local Stealer, waiting for them to call. I guess how they recover it is their issue
To be fair to LRA, they have already put me in touch with Enterprise who are looking for "a LR product" hire car to get over to me today. Can't really complain thus far, as long as the car gets recovered and I get a hire car today so I can get on with my life......
Wont be a happy bunny if I cant get a hire car today.....
Hopefully it'll get a sneaky wee valet while at the stealers

Last time I got towed in under warranty I got a range rover from enterprise straight away. Think it's pretty much luck of the draw though. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I hope that either you or the recovery person knows how to get it out of park without the engine running. With the centre cup-holders removed, a small white tab is just visible on the back right of the gear lever housing. IIRC it needs to be lifted a little (but perhaps pressed) but as its easy to move, be gentle and it wont get broken. Home of LLAMS, for LRs and Jeep GCs
