*Update* my discovery 3 is still unresponsive and want to know what should I do next as I’ve done a hard reset and literally nothing! It’s still coming up as “transmission fault limited gears available” And currently showing the letter “E” instead of “F” on other online platforms located where it shows (P R N D). Could someone tell me what I could do as I want to avoid the LR dealership if it’s a fix that’s only under £200.

A U code is just an information code not a fault code, what are you using to read the faults? Andrew

Hate it when they come on with a problem and never update or reply or have any input to the forum.

A 'U' code is a communication error code - usually transient but not always, and can point to 'real' problems, not just a single, or series of missing messages. Yes, most of the time they can be ignored, sometimes they are pointing to a loss of comms that can prevent normal operation if the code is 'live' and not historical.
