What is this ??

Found a short cable (bowden or similar) in the O/S rear wheel arch cubby hole (near jack etc). Seems to operate some geared mecahnism above the wheel arch but cannot identify it.

Anyone know what it is and is it supposed to be connected at both ends 'cause mine isn't

fuel filler flap ? - never looked in 5 years ownership but seem to remember it being mentioned some time ago ?

Netherlands 2005 Discovery 3 4.4 V8 HSE Auto Zermatt SilverDiscovery 3

If this cable is off, the fuel filler cap will not lock with the central locking - easy to check.

Wiljo D3 V8 HSE Auto in Zermatt silver - driveway version gone but not forgotten, only the living room cupboard version remains

Precisely what it is - checked the action with the door locking and no signs of any movement - cannot feel any vibration either which would suggest the actuator is not working at all. Next steps ??

Mine came loose somehow too, dealer will fix at next service...
Dunno if I could fix it myself.
Anybody done this?
