OK Guys - many thanks! This is where forums come into their own as I would have been 'slightly' concerned about this hunting behaviour with the + button held down, and now I'm not. 
Just out of further interest, how many of the 'me too' respondants have had a Turbochip remapping done?
At the end of the day, I have no intention of using the + button as an accelerator, but I thought it was worth investigation.
