Is fitting a fridge in my D4 "straight forward" ? |
|
Hi all
I recenly succumbed to temptation and bought a D4 HSE, so with a heavy heart, am now looking to sell my bullet proof D3.
However, my D3 has a fridge. But my D4 does not. And I like my fridge.
So.....from other threads I have seen, it appears "possible" to move the fridge from one to the other. http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic65889.html
However, the only problem is, I am mechanically incompetent, and wouldn't dare do anything more advanced than change a rear light bulb on the car
The look of some of the fridge wiring diagrams and insturctions on the link above fill me with fear that if I try to swap over the fridges, I will end up with 2 cars that are electrical health risks, with half the dashboard hanging off.
So my main question to the eminently more mechanically minded brains in this forum is whether moving the fridge over is an "easy task" for a non- mechanically minded person like me, or even advisable ?
Or should I just ask my local dealer to fit me a new one in my D4 for the £400 they quoted me
Presumably I can also put the "innards" of the current D4 centre console into the D3, once I have taken the fridge out of the D3 ?
Any guidance much appreciated !
cheers
Paul

This is an easy job, did it myself on previous D4 and similar to yourself on skill level
At most it involves 2 connectors on wiring and screwdriver.
Take D3. One out first note where wired connectors are then relate this to D4
Allow good time and take it slow save yourself £400 D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

won't this devalue your D3 - better to get a second hand fridge off the bay??

Its not going to devalue the D3
Extras fitted never have any positive effect on pricing so nothing to lose D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST
