Heres one for you!
I have decided that I will never use the phone cradle under the cubby-box lid as bluetooth is fine for me.
Therefore I would like to install my iPod under there and use the PTI wiring to charge it.
I may use the LR iPod interface for this so that I can use the steering wheel buttons as well.
Anyone recon this is feasible or not?
Cheers for any forthcoming advice! Back in the game!

I'll chuck in my two pence.
Using the PTI interface to charge ipod: probably more hassle than it's worth.
Routing the ipod end of the ACM into the cubby box: I'd guess it would be possible if the cables were long enough. Now, I've only looked at the ACM install docs that were linked here, but if you moved the little control box thing that would ordinarily go under the air vent to the right of the steering wheel into the centre console and route the cable for the ipod along the gearbox tunnel... does that make sense?
Bear in mind I have neither a D3 or the ACM install kit or a working iPod OR even much of a clue wtf I'm talking about, so long as you're not drilling or soldering anything, I'm voting "Give it a shot".
*If you screw something up, don't blame me.

The cables that come with the ACM would be more than long enough. You could locate the module somewhere closer to the centre console, and it'd be plenty long. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!
