iPod keeps dropping connection on MY12 D4 |
|
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions/fixes. I use an iPod classic as a music hard drive in my D4 - permanently conected through a cable. Periodically it drops the connection, showing up "iPod not fconnected" on the D4 display screen and will usually eventually restart but then starts on random play on the iPod, losing what I have been listening to. Hence have to browse though my music to find the album again.... There is no clear pattern to when this might occurs - I did wonder if it could be the iPod battery losing charge but this may happen after a few minutes of driving or after 1-2 weeks.
Hardly the end of the world in the overall scheme of things but it would be nice to sort it if possible.
Regards
John

That happened to me and my iphone when I first had my car and it would freeze so you couldn't change it. From memory, I think I did a hard reset of the car and that sorted it for that problem.
The pain now is with IOS 8, it keeps freezing and you need to delete and reinstate the bluetooth connection. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

My iPod classic does the same thing occasionally. I thought (now not convinced) it happened after I got out of the car with engine running and the key in my pocket. On getting back in, the key took some time to deregister and after an event like this, both my Android phone Bluetooth connection and iPod wired connection dropped.
I needed to stop engine and restart if I wanted to get them to recover connection.

What exactly is a hard reset of the car ...and how is achieved?
