Iphone message/email tone

Hello,

When I have my iphone connected via Bluetooth and the radio is on the message/email tone does not come through the speakers but if I have my phone connected via Bluetooth and am playing music from the phone the message/email tone does work, the music vol dips to allow for the tone to come through!

Does anyone know a solution to this please?

This is a feature of the phone rather than the D4 IHU.

When playing music over Bluetooth, you are broadcasting music from your phone to the D4 and even if you were listening through headphones it would still dip the volume to let you know an email/SMS has come in.

Just playing music through the radio, the radio has no concept of whether you have received an email/SMS and doesn't dip the volume in the same way.

Working as designed as far as I am aware. Thumbs Up

Had a great feature in my last car that if I received a text it would dim the radio and then play the text to you. Simples.

However not for email & imessaging. Sad

There is an "SMS Read" option in the D3 CCF that can be enabled/disabled using an IIDTool/Faultmate but am not sure exactly what that function does.

Anybody else know?

there must be some sort of connection to the phone with the radio on as it does vibrate when a message comes through
