WHATEVER you do don't get an FM connector.
I have tried 2-3 and NEVER had a good experience.
The solution I have now is brilliant and relatively cheap!
http://us.kensington.com/html/14492.html
They do two versions, one with cradle and one with just the cable.
I have it plugged into my aux socket and get great audio and the little remote control attaches to steering wheel (I have it at 6 o'clock position) and makes control of iPod a breeze.
Automatically starts and stops when calls come in and no fitting required!

There's a chap on eBay selling the HK drive+play system for £25 + postage. I heartily recommend it; took me about half an hour to fit, no wire splicing (if your D3 has an AUX input) and it is wife-friendly in operation. I think MARKW & Guy have the same set-up. Apple are adding support for Stereo Bluetooth (speakers and headphones) in OS 3.0 due out in the summer. I don't know whether the bluetooth module for the phone is just connected in mono in the D3, or whether it will work with the D3 at all - but it's coming... Lots of other nice updates too 8)

Does the D3 PTI support stereo Bluetooth ??? Doubtful.
TBH iPhone OS 3.0 looks a bit of a damp squib... no background tasks, no multitasking / multi threading, Bluetooth file transfer... lots of nice things for games and diabetics though.
Good to see Push will finally be there though.

there is a third party bluetooth stack available now that lets you transfer files and stuff.

I guess lots of little useful things, rather than one major killer thing. Better cal support, landscape mail, those sorts of things I like. I'd like to have seen a one inbox solution for multiple mail accounts, and Flash video. I think clever use of push will actually get round a lot of the background app questions.
I dunno really, I guess I'd rather have a few things that worked very elegantly, rather than a gaziliion things that were just buggy... thinking back to my frustrating days on other PDAs...
(cue a load of angry BB/iPaq users who'll all say we've been able to do this sort of stuff for years...! )
Pretty excited by the additional APIs, but I think this release is more about exciting developers with loads of additional tools, that will eventually mean better apps for the end users, rather than a couple of big things to wow the public.
Enjoyed the video though 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

Just listened to the whole of the V3.0 presentation. Sounds like we have some stunning stuff to look forward to in the summer.
I love the iPhone.
Its funny, having been in the industry I have owned / used hundreds of phones over the years right back to system 4.
I have always been a sucker for the latest and greatest top of the range sexy phones, probably only used 20% of their features and treated them like the crown jewels having pride in the ownership of the phone itself and enjoying having models not many other people had. When the iPhone came out I poo poo'ed it as a style thing for left wing nancy boys.
Then I got one on demo for a month and that all changed!
Now I use 90%+ of the features, have no pride of ownership in the phone itself but great reliance on the software tools.
If I drove over it tomorrow and had to pay a grand to get another one I wouldn't hesitate.
For me its not what the iPhone OS does, its the way it does it, all so very easy .

You should never argue with idiots because they will just drag you down to their level....then beat you with experience !

It seems to me that whilst the competition may have better spec'd products it is the flexibility and customizability (not sure if that word exists!) that gives it the edge. I hated BB loved Nokia but they still don't work for me as well as the iphone. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

It's a fantastic pocket computer, good media player but mediocre mobile phone.
I think the possible hardware integration in 3.0 will give it a good boost. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
