Iphone 5 music playback

Hi everyone, I picked up my discovery 4 last Wednesday and yesterday I bought (from apple) a 30 pin to lightning adapter to go between the cable already in the centre arm rest to my iphone. The car is not picking it up to play music, just charging it. Has anyone else had this problem and/or know how to rectify it please?

Some of the early curly leads did not work correctly .

They were later changed for ones that did . G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Oh right ok. So do they do an iphone 5 cable or do I need the same cable again? Cheers

Same cable .. Just newer version

I use a apple 30 pin to lightning adapter with mine .. Works fine G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Just so you are aware, you need a genuine Apple adaptor - it has a convertor from the digital output of the iphone 5 to the analogue input from the 30 pin iPhone 4 connector. There is no analogue audio out on the iPhone 5 to feed into the car kit. Some conversion cables will do the power and data but not the music. that is partly why the genuine ones cost more....

You should not have a cable - just a small white plastic thing with a 30 pin socket and lightning plug.

Why not just use the bluetooth?

2010 car does not have streaming Bluetooth

And he does say ge brought the atapter from apple .. G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I have that land rover cable already in the car, with a genuine apple adapter and latest software on my phone. Perhaps a faulty cable?
