has anyone used one of these on their ipod lead in their D4

Does it still play ok ?

Does it still charge ?

£25 from apple seems expensive as usual D4 2010 HSE Santorini Black
D3 2005 SE Java Black - p/x to D4
D2 2001 GS - p/x to D3

i believe the lightning adaptor has some electronics inside it so its not just a passive terminal to terminal device. Hence probably why the cheapos dont work very well. i gave up on one and bought the proper £25 Apple one absolute bargain (not) at that price but it works. And I'm not about to break mine apart to check if I'm right on the active assertion.

My cheapie off eBay (can't recall if seller from HK or China) works well on my MY13 D4 for both charging and music streaming.
