so ... on the basis no-one has said otherwise, the only change this does is removing the grey areas ?
Yep. Like baldness.
Has someone told you you're going bald ?

I change my CCF quite a lot just on the battery. As long as the battery has a good charge and your not spending much time using the IID tool it’s ok. I usually go in and edit in less than 5 minutes, it takes me longer to reset the windows and clock/date.
If you use SDD, it won’t let you edit the CCF if the voltage drops to low.

I like to think of it as a super short haircut.

I think the IID does the same - it’ll refuse to update on low battery.

Thanks kajtzu. I think I'll charge the battery overnight then give it a whirl.
Do you know what other changes it introduces? I notice that sometimes when setting cruise, the cruise set speed doesn't appear. Do you know if it resolves this also?
No idea besides removing shading - don’t have the D4 anymore either

Just did the IPC update on battery alone, no problem.
Started at 12.5v and finished there.
Then spent an hour poking around the CCF settings, by end of which battery had dropped to 12.2v
As for what the IPC flash did? AFAICT it only removed the shading. In fact, wondered if it had actually worked at first as I was expecting to see changes on the Nav display as well.
But no new settings I can see, sadly.2011 D4 XS : LHD
2005 D3 HSE : reluctant sale, but moved abroad. Great car.
