Internal lights in SE and HSE Discovery 3's ...
Hi all,
... internal lights in the Discovery 3
My GS has a (very) bright light on each side, which is perfect for illuminating the whole inside of the planet, but much too bright for the passanger to use as a map light etc ... 'er indoors turned it on to read a map the other day (GS, no sat nav!) and it was blinding!
My question is, do you SE/HSE guys have a better light as standard (perhaps with a small map light along with the standard lighting) and if I bought one, would it work???
Thank you

I assume they are all the same units... My HSE passenger map light is also blinding. As you slide down the banister of life
may no splinters point your way

The interior lights are very [too] bright.
If I need to, I always switch on the passenger light whilst in drivers seat.
That way you lose a lot of the brightness on your side.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.
Some of the cheaper LED w5w replacements are dimmer than the standard T5/W5W lamps if that helps? Or you could source a dashboard lighting dimmer switch from just about any make of car (just get the cheapest you can find) and wire that in to the passenger lampI know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The Saxo clan use paint on the inside of their rear light clusters to blacken them. They don't darken the lights much*
Would this be of use?
(Weirdly - since it's decades since I read it - this reminded me of HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy.... just gone searching for the quote..... The reason I'm having so much trouble flying this ship is because it's black. The walls are black, the floor is black, the console is black, the switches are black, the labels are little black letters printed on a black background, and when you press anything, a black light lights up in black to tell you you've done it. 8)

The set up on my old TDI was a good idea, the map reading lights were under the rear view mirror.
Even the one in the FFRR are dinky little lights at either side of the main light front and rear.ATB
