Interior lights
Ok so my D3 has a DVD player in the roof which is also where the middle interior lights are, I bought some LED bulbs thinking it would brighten things up a bit, I took out the old bulb (light was on) and found the new bulbs won’t fit whilst trying to fit them both lights flickered a bit and then went out now neither works I’ve checked the fuses it says in the book and both (f3 & or f4) and these are ok, are they the right fuses and what the has happened?
Help

I changed my dvd ones to led and they still arent worth a toss!
They seem to dull down at a different rate/time to the front interior lamps (did this before the led bulbs) so maybe get their power elsewhere?

Do you have a code reader? If you do, read the codes... when I was with random LEDs I noticed, when they failed, errors like “interior lighting - signal open to ground”, etc. clearing the codes sometimes magically made things better. Changing to normal W5W bulbs and a hard reset fixed things, too.

I’ve got an iid so will check codes, I’ve put the original bulbs back and they are ok so not sure what it is, I’ll check the codes later

Turned up today and I now have light in row two
My old led bulbs had 4 leds, new ones have two and are much brighter, I guess time and tech move on, even on ebay
Top tip drop the screen down then the plastic lens pops off easily with just your fingers

Still can’t get the middle row to work, they were ok until I tried to put the led bulbs in, (wrong ones) got the right ones now but no joy, put a light tester on the terminals and no power, anyone know which fuse controls these (I’ve got a DVD player in the roof that still works) the Haynes manual (yes I know🤪) says it’s one fuse and the handbook says another, both seem ok to me though😱
