Interior cabin temperature
Trundled up the M1/M6 early this morning to spend a few days in Brum for work - outside temperature was 9degC, but I had to keep turning the interior temp up..........got to 27/28 on the dials before it was comfortable. Now I'm not a cold person, but it seems like there's not a lot of heat coming out of the vents - is this normal for a D3, or do I have an 'issue' ?Jim

Jimbo, there's a small grill just to the left of the steering wheel, just above your knee.
This is the sensor for the temperature in the cabin. Is it blocked in any way? Have you done any work in that area?Dr. Ian Malcolm:

It is probably the foam insulating pad has come off the interior heat sensor. If you look at the lower dash, by your left knee (RHD), you will see a small grill, pull the panel out of the dash and there should be a foam blanket around the sensor.
If its missing or displaced the latent heat build up behind the dash will cause the hvac system to think the cabin temp is too high, and will constantly try to cool the car interior down.

I've not done anything near the grill, but will do as you suggest and have a look - can't right now, as the car is over the other side of town, and the pub is calling.........oh the joy of (almost) fully-expensed company training courses Jim
