On the original RRS (and D3 I guess) the second battery went in front of the brake master cylinder in diesels, but a space was available on the petrols where the FBH would normally be fitted in the diesel just like his arrangement.

Australian spec D3 and D4 (Petrol and diesel models) did not get a FBH, so they have a big empty space there. Ideal for a second battery, a third battery can then be fitted where the start-stop battery would be fitted on a European spec D4.
