Interested in hidden winch mount, winch, snorkel...

Hello!

I'm interested in the hidden mount and if possible suggestions on who can do a nice installation in the south east. (Any group buys/installations coming up?)

Great if the garage suggested also can installation winch, A-bar, snorkel (RAI) and underbody protection as I would like to have it all done at once. Very Happy Hopefully there's a place not overcharging for doing it all!?

With the hidden mount is it ok to use another winch than Warn as they are so expensive! Any suggestion in the 5-700 GBP price range, preferably with wireless remote control. I've looked at e.g. T-max and Goodwinch - any feedback from users???

Too bad it's not legal to put a nice ARB bumper on a 2008! They look great and you don't need to be so worried for crashing the plastics!... Sad

Many questions but as many of you are the D3 experts any suggestions are much appreciated. Bow down

Thanks,
Johan

I like the idea of hidden winch bumper like Devon 44's which in me opinion makes pulling out of trouble a bit more safe for bumper as fair-lead wound not have a chance to move any direction

still fecking expensive

The hidden mount is a lot neater, but one still has to buy extra diesel to cart the additional weight around all the time. And then it is still no use at all if you are stuck and want to winch yourself back out.

So what I would really like is a frame to fit a winch into that can plug into the standard NA square receiver at the rear, with a similar mount at the front hidden behind the number plate. If it can be done, how much would it cost?

Not when going to the chippie, or Tesco, or the coffee shop, or B&Q, or the tenthousand mundane places it goes that I should probably walk to! Just load it in along with the other off-road stuff when likely to be required.

I have Ray's mount and a Goodwinch 12000C.

I had help from TLO to mount it, but it still took a day.

Its hard to get the freespool lever to move, but I just pay it out.

I went with the hidden mount rather then removable due to the fact that it is always available, and the removable 1 takes room in the boot, and is always at home in the garage when you need it.

You some times suddenly need it when you drive off into a deep snow drift and chains can't get you out Whistle

Hi cold_n_wet,
I suspect that you meant 10forCash (TFC) rather than TLO.

Best Wishes,
