Academic question but can the D4 3.0 cooler be fitted to the D3?
Yes it can!
However, after you've got to all the trouble of replacing the radiator and aircon condenser, rerouting the intercooler pipework, and coolant piping, you may get a little upset when you find the boost pressure from your nice, singular D3 turbo, leaks out of the extra hole thoughtfully provided by Land Rover for the boost from the D4's extra turbo.

didn't know that - looking at potentially getting a new one fitted when doing belts later this year so as Allisport are just up the road from me I'll definitely look at this option. Thanks Beanie
Anyone fitted on here one? If so, what was involved ie was it simple to remove old and fit new etc etc???LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
