Does anyone know if this mod can be installed in place of the OEM screen or does it only work with the non screened dash?

As long as you complete the most circuit i think you can remove the screen as i think its the head unit that controls the most Discovery 3 se gone

It carries the information around the system if you look behind the screen you will see a orange coloured plastic type of cable that's the one Discovery 3 se gone

Fitting a garmin sat nav
Hi, just a quick question Is it possible to fit a garmin sat nav 1490 LMT & echo route HD flush mounted into the space after removing the existing tsd and are there any foreseeable snags

LMT only means you have lifetime maps and the 1490 does fit.
I presume also you mean ecoroute as opposed to echo route. The honest answer is, there is room behind the install to accomodate an ecoroute but there is no point putting it in there. It communicates with the 1490 via bluetooth so I have situated mine behind the drop panel below the steering wheel and connected it to the OBD port with one of these: OBD Cable Link
Works faultlessly and is very discreet and well hidden.
You honestly don't need to put it behind the satnav.Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.
Wing Mirror Indicator Repeaters.
Long Roof Rails

I'm not scared, I'm outta here.
