Trying to insure 2 cars today , what is it with insurance companies not giving you a no claims discount on more than one car and state your discount can only be used on one car ? , surely what ever car i drive am a full no claims driver !! at least 28 years approx Whistle with no accidents , also because I'm insured on my van and have no claims discount there i can't use my no claims ! , swmbo is insured on the D3 so using her discount there Banging Head Banging Head nightmare anyone have easy solution ? Only thing I can think of is Admiral and the like that offer multi car policies, might that help?

Try "A plan" insurance. They matched my no claims discount from my first car on to a second policy.

Aviva multicar will give you a matched "introductory" NCD on your second vehicle if you and your cars meet their criteria. That introductory NCD becomes full NCD on the second anniversary of the policy.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Adrian Flux matched my no claims when we had a third vehicle last year, no probs, they were insuring all 3 cars though........it's very dependant on the insurer and how they perceive your circumstances, for instance you'll get nowhere if you want to put your 17year on on the third policy.......

BEWARE!!!

I went with Admiral .. I Total I had 3 cars ALL with their own NCD...

A few years later I wanted to revert back to insuring the three vehicles independently... HOWEVER I was told by all the insurers that as I had 'Combined' My NCD with Admiral for over 2 years I only had ONE NCD that I could use!!!!! ie my 3 Lots of NCD had merged into one!!!

I complained to Admiral and they pointed out their small print... "you continue to Build NCD" .. but ONLY as long as you insure with them!!!

This mistake cost me Hundreds of £'s.. as I had to start again with only 'Introductory' NCD on two of the three policies...

And the Reason I Switched was Admiral Started to really bump up their policy costs... to more than insuring 3 different cars!!!

Caveat Emptor
 1 TR6 Rusting away quietly
1 FARR UTV SOLD
1 International Harvester SOLD
7 x D3 all SOLD
2 x D4 both SOLD
1 x Mrs D4 'Panther' SOLD
1 x Outlander van SOLD
1 continual stream of car parts and me living in the garage...

Ive always thought the multi car policies have to have a ctach.
Ive been driving my defender for 4 years on a classic policy, which I knew didnt accumalate ncd, but didnt realise once you have been out of the loop for 2 years you have to start all over again!
Still it was only 371 full comp quid so not the end of the world.
