A plan quoted 545 as apposed to LR at 600 when I asked about glass roof cover was told this would not be covered as part of glass but would require a full insurance claim with excess being paid as well. Also told that would not get ire car if my car was written off. Asked if they could do like for like quote with LR policy and their reply was sorry we are not competitive with like for like against LR. Sticking with LR again.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

As ever, insurance is not a "one size fits all" matter - certain insurers/underwriters take on different risk profiles and that's reflected in the price they might offer you.
If that wasn't the case there would be no point having comparison sites and so on as all insurers would quote the same 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

I hear wat you say martin....what I cant understand is that 79 companies on a comparison website can give fully comp no tracker from anything between 275 and 1029 quids ...but our sponsor A plan has one company that want 540 quid plus a tracker makes no sence///////////and that will only cover events...so if you want to go freestyle your stuffed....we only do charity offroad or LRE and even LRE cant understand why LR cant cover their own franchise...its crazy
we are currently with flux...been there about 2 months...they want 650...that's another 393 quid...if we pull out we get 185 back after they take out the nasty fees...its lookin like we will go just for fully comp from the normal..and the offroad boys can stick it.....following my compliant to LRCS I know there are supposed to be chat between LR insurance..LR and A llianz..about offroad cover but I aint holding my bref.its a pity the weight of this forum cant purge a deal with someone to offer one off day tickets for offroad cover that we could all take up as required...hey buts that's toooo common sence innit........makes you wonder if the tracker is to check where you've offroad rather the theft scenario

Hmm, granted I only bought a 2012 model D4 HSE, however I swapped my insurance over from the Citroen Picasso after selling it and cost remained from what I can see unchanged ?? Renewal is March next year so prepping myself, as expecting costs to be higher. However just realized we have multi car discount and being middle aged has its advantages haha.

hi Russell
well we would love to have a piece of paper like you have as we were keen to stick with LRI
however ive phoned them again today...the nearest cover they will offer is driving over fields for the likes of farmers or landowners who tend their land...defo no experience ,free style off roading ,green laning or organised events...............we have decided to stay with flux for another year purely because we had nearly 400 quids worth of credit from last policy.hoping we don't have as much agro with our new disco from Monday as weve had get it covered...ps suspect the farmer cover would be business use anyhow

Just had an online quote with Direct Line for my MY2016 D4 HSE Lux. Myself and SWMBO, 20K per year plus full business use for me and confirmation that the panoramic glass roof would be covered as standard. Always take the legal cover and protect NC. Just over £500. Went with that...

My experience was pretty much the exact opposite.
I use A Plan for my home insurance, but they were c.50% more than A Plan for the D4. In fact A Plan were about the most expensive quote I got.

Motor insurance is a volatile competitive market. Rates change hourly in certain markets.
If a "red shiny thing"is valued at about £200. Pretty much, wherever you look, it will be about £200. Give or take a couple of quid. If you manage to get it for £180 - then you've had a steal and praise the lord.
Don't expect the same luck every year.
A few people have mentioned mid term adjustments. The annualised rates for the vehicle you are going from and the vehicle you are going to may or may not have changed since you effected the policy. Regardless of either, the broker can and will (usually) charge you a fee of up to £50 for the labour of making the change.
A bit like a mechanic might really. Best to think of it like that.
BTW, changes in the insurance act particularly related to retail insurance come in to effect in feb 2017 related to the publishing of annualised premiums and particularly how they change following mid term adjustments, claims, etc..D3 07 SE - still going strong
D3 07 HSE - gone to car heaven
FL1 - gone to Romania
D3 05 HSE - gone to a divorce diet
D1 V8 manual - gone but not forgotten
RR Classic - gone to car heaven
