| Insurance companies - I feel like I have been mugged! |

Took out my insurance for the D3 3 weeks ago at a cost of around £265, at that time I didn't know I was changing my car. When I enquired about the change of vehicle to the D4 the response was "oh that company doesn't insure cars of that value", their other quote was £750, moving company but same broker - Adrian Flux.
I have just phoned to cancel after 3 weeks, my refund, £101, even with a £30 odd admin fee that is scandalous, I feel like I have been mugged! 
Moved to Privilige, £283 far better. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Posted this once before but my wife had a polo gti which we changed to an seat altea (group 14 to group 7) insurance company wanted another £100 per year, 3 months left on policy so difference was little so agreed thinking would sort out at renewal time. Anyway, Altea was a dog so after a week had to give back to dealer and got polo back off of them. Rang insurance company and they wanted another £450 overall per year. I explained that this was same car i had with them previous but would not budge. I cancelled there and then. Just goes to show companies who give low prices on the basis, i think, of ripping you off if you change car or address mid policy.
Its a lose / lose situation out there at the moment
