instant MPG on full beans
with a work colleague on board, he asked what the D4 did to the gallon, if driven hard, so on a dual carriageway at 60mpg, I set the trip comp to "instant MPG" and floored it. His first reaction was "oh - thats fast" as it rocketed past three figures speed wise, and 10MPG showing. No matter how hard I kept my foot down, it wouldnt go into single figures
Anybody got theirs lower?

Never got mine into single figures but I did get it into triple figures... 282.5mpg!!!

Had an indicated 6mpg this morning a couple of times and I wasn't going silly.
I thought the new car was meant to be more efficient

Its not - LR lie. The D4 is no better than the D3 was.

I have had my LR4 at 3 MPG but it is the V8.
On the gas side of things the 5.0L LR4 is about the same mpg as my old 4.4L LR3. The difference in performance is night and day. Not a bad result.
