Inspiration on storage in D4

Am looking for inspiration for storage in back of a Discovery 4.

Either homemade or commercial purchased. Anyone removed the back seats and used the extra space.

Photographs and comments appreciated.

There are several companies that do drawer systems for the D3/D4 however they will soon remove a large portion of your savings. Storage depends a lot on what you are planning to do with the vehicle, do you ever use the 3rd row seats? Do you carry dogs? etc, etc.

I knocked these up for camping trips. We take far too much when we go but it all fits in the drawers. If we need more space I take out the middle row which gives masses of space.
I actually made them to allow for bottles of wine to stand upright which has been useful for trips to France Thumbs Up

No dogs, can not see a need for the back folding seats.

Am thinking of a cargo barrier behind the second row seats.

Also thinking of removing third row seats out of vehicle to obtain more load space.

Looking for a easily removable system.

That would only give you six inches more depth of storage for the cost of two occasional seats?

We are normally just 2 up in a vehicle and maybe once every 2-3 months 4 up. So loss of occasional seats not a major concern to us.

Thank you Little G for your photos, it has given me a few more ideas.

Must admit I was thinking of a full height cargo barrier, but after seeing your photos I am reconsidering and thinking of a top half cargo barrier/dog guard.

How are your storage units anchored down>

I just use a couple of ratchet straps across the top, through the cargo loops.
Thumbs Up

Like Iggy I built the drawers offset to allow dropping of the spare without the need to take the whole thing out.

Ieuan’s post was one that gave some ideas.

Thumbs Up
