inner size LR expedition rack + noise

Hi there !

Been an enthusiastic LR3 owner so far. Now planning some trips down in Marocco and looking for some mods to my second "extended range" Disco...

Since I'll be traveling down with 3 kids and the mother of those Bow down Bow down I must shift some stuff on the roof... Hence the purchase of a roof rack. I like the design of the G4 one and before shifting to some less genuine alternatives, I want to confront it with my reality: I have a roof tent that is is just above 55" wide (140 cm). Will this one fit into the LR expedition rack ? Looks tight... but I'm awaiting your precise confirmation...

Besides, how noisy is this rack... any advice on least noisy alternatives ?

Thx

Benoit (pronounce it Banoa)
A second D3 ! This time with all whistles and bells (Auto, 7seats, Diff Lock, RAI, all kinds of protections, winch, Extended range tank, iPod adapter....)
First time twice the same car ! and first time third car of the same brand !

I'm loving it !

I have a G4 with the roof rack. I admit you can hear the roofrack above 100 km/hr. I don't have a problem with that but I am looking in possibilties to reduce the noise. I am coming from a Camel discovery and that was a lot more noisy, roofrack and engine.
If you search in the gallery for G4 or roofrack you might find pictures off somebody put a rubber flap below the front but I am not sure how good that worked.
I put a flap were the front posts are but that doesn't work that good. I have a feeling that most off the noise will come from the lights and the G4 plaque. but are not sure yet.

The size I cannot measure the size on the moment as my G4 has some waranty work done. I am afraid that 140 cm might be a little much to fit between the sides.

Measured mine, 1.015 m wide ( @ top rail as it tapers inward from the base )
1.865 m long usable space. The floor is area is bigger, so you will have to go
up, over the rails Shocked or use a flat roof rack for the roof top tent.
