Indicator flashing rapidly

When using the left indicator this morning, it started normally (on the dash) then proceeded to flash and click rapidly - I thought a bulb must have blown but when I checked no Confused The right hand indicator is normal from inside the car, outside both sides flash at the normal speed. Called in at my LR dealer and one of their technicians had a look and as Im getting a lot of warning messages too (usually when starting the car but occasionally when stopping) he suspected a water leak by the CJB - he had a quick look but could not see anything. Cars now booked in on Tuesday for further investigation.

Then you wont mind turning without signalling. Probably these come complimentary with purchase of a BMW.

I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Just had a call from the dealership, they have eventually traced the problem to an incorrect bulb in the rear indicator, they say it is a Phillips double pole brake light bulb and because of that they are going to charge me for the labour involved - never mind that I have never changed a indicator bulb on the D3. Evil or Very Mad They say that this bulb can not have been in the car from when I took delivery of it and as soon as the bulb was installed the problem would have shown itself with the fast indicator speed!

The car has not been touched by anyone other that this dealership and LR and the LR approved bodyshop, a couple of brake light bulbs have been replaced but with genuine LR ones - but of course they don't believe this! They also think I may have mistakenly but a brake light bulb in the Indicator bulb holder!

Waiting for a call now to find out how much this is going to cost

Any advice appreciated

Well I would want to see the bulb in question to start. Then talk to the fitter who found said bulb, and question him in the same way they questioned Daniel Craig in the film Casino Royal. Thumbs Up

Just had the service manager on the phone as they need to keep the car overnight due to problems with upgrading the bluetooth software ( http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic16136.html) .

Mentioned the bulb as they had not got back to me with a price, was told that it took them 2 hours to find that it was the bulb at fault Shocked ,said that as I was a good customer (had 5 Discoveries from them) they would do their best with the costs.

I really want to know how a bulb made by Phillips can make the indicators flash rapidly. Get the bulb off them, and ask them how and why? Does anyone know what make of bulb do Land Rover fit?

apparently it was a phillips brake light bulb (double pole) installed in the indicator bulb socket which is a single pole socket - forgot to add that detail to the earlier post Embarassed - will edit earlier post.

Spoke with Nick at Yeovil earlier (thanks Nick Thumbs Up ) and it would seem that Land Rover use Osram bulbs at the factory but in the D3 bulb kit they are Hella.
