Independant service and extended warranty?
Is it possible to have warranty work done at an independent service place?
Has anyone any experience of this? Will the warranty firm deal with non-Landrover service garages?
I have the LandRover Extended Warranty.
Cheers
Matt

I'm guessing no one has been in this situation then.
I've re-read the Warranty terms & conditions and it appears that if you need work doing at garage other than a Landrover Approved service centre then you have to call the warranty help line.
I'm taking it to a non-approved place tomorrow so if any work covered by the warranty is needed I'll let you all know how I get on.

Hi, I would be interested to hear how you get on with your independent service and your extended warranty.
I am in a similar position and considering the same approach. The local approved dealer is hopeless and my thinking is that an independent must at least be competent to survive! They are a 4x4 specialist.
Thanks.

I have Warranty Direct cover with main dealer rates. I've been told that I have to use main dealers to service the car or invalidate the warranty. All very dull, more expensive than it needs to be and will probably deliver a worse service. Would have preferred to continue with TFC but it seems I can't.PAGODA

Pagoda - surely you'll be fine with warranty and service with TFC? I think they only mean if you want the warranty to cover work at main dealer rates, you mst have it serviced by them?2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

When I had Warranty Direct cover on my old car the only clause was the service and warranty work had to be acrried out in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and by a VAT registered garage.
I could however imagine if you had a Land Rover warranty you would be stuck with a main dealer. For details on the next Kielder Safari click visit the Kielder Safari website

We have never had a problem with servicing Landrover's covered under the standard three year, or extended warranty. Of course if Landrover /extended, it would have to go back to the dealer for the warranty work to be carried out. But as there is no cost to you, that shouldn't be a problem.
We have often emailed our local dealer with the list of faults needing attention.
I have never had a problem dealing with any aftermarket warranty company, either servicing wise, or us carrying out the repair (apart from they will wriggle out of saying a part was or wasn't covered, which is par for the course for most insurance warranties).
