In-Vehicle safe/lockbox

As per title, has anyone done such a thing, and if so, where did you locate it?

I'm looking to fit a safe of small proportions to keep valuables like keys in. It occurred to me the other day, if anyone ever brokie into my D3 they would then have the keys to my wife's car, the house, the caravan, the secure caravan park, my gunsafe, the garage, my parents' house and my offices. Not good at all.

But, since I'm really bad with keys, I keep them all in the centre console, in full view as well. Embarassed

Deffo need to address this. No good having them all on one bunch as it won't then go in my pocket. Just need some kind of locking box for them, about the size of a readymeal box I suppose.

Thanks in advance. Dom.

Mmmmmm, thinking!!! Couple of holes in the right place and it should bolt to the floor (helps that mine has middle seats removed).

I've got a "Hitchsafe" which just fits into the trailer hitch and barely holds the D3 key. It's good for me as it's a safe place to keep the key while swimming at the beach, but it's too small to hold other valuables.

SJR - that looks good. Probably a bit on the large side for what I need.

Would fit a treat in the back I guess. I was thinking more along the lines of a tray type of this (lockable) which could be bolted into the upper glovebox. Something along those lines anyway.

Perfect size would be about big enough to hold 2 boxes of fags and be a slide out type.

Just bear in mind that your average car thief will check the glove box and damage whatever he needs too to get your valuables, the one under the seats would be invisible unless you have a good knowledge of the D3 and its secret spaces Whistle Thumbs Up

Not a good advert. I'd suggest that you edit your post or indeed a mod with a sense of public duty please delete the information from the first post.

I could live with someone being robbed after posting some sensitive intel on an open forum, but a firearm being liberated due to the same intel is a whole other ball game.

Hi all, just a new member. I've been reading your forum for quite a few months - doing background on Disco3 for future purchase. This thread caught my attention - in OZ we have a dedicated high security in-vehicle safe called the Hide Away Safe that loads of travellers use including every police force in the country - to store their goodies (including hand guns). Web site www.hideawaysafe.com.au They will export.
