In the Prater
Last week I abandoned my Disco in the underground garage of a hotel (more of which later) and took to my bike for a trip along the Danube from Passau to Vienna. Hot and sweaty but very enjoyable.
I looked out for D3s all along the way but the only Discovery I spotted was in the Prater amusement park in Vienna (I was too wimpish to go on the ride!):
Actually, that's not quite true. I did see two Series II Discos (one with CD plates - what are you in Vienna, if you're not a diplomat?) and another on the autobahn on the trip back between Vienna and Linz. But no D3s
This was the first trip where I used the Thule bike carrier, which I bought recently. It worked very well with three bikes up.
We had one bit of extra excitement when we returned to the hotel in Passau to pick up the car. The hotel had been on fire that morning! Luckily the blaze was on the top floors and my D3 remained undamaged in the garage. Phew! A close call.

Theoretically, you can tilt the rack down, so that the boot can be opened. But I haven't mastered that yet
