In car video (Africa)

Have any of you guys fitted a DVD player/screens?
I have had some quotes that are horrendous (R9k plus) for the in-headrest versions of screens.
At the moment I am using the strap-on screens, but this is a bit messy, as well as a bit of a security risk.

Any advice on a JHB supplier that works?

I have had good results in my previous 110 with the JVC 10 inch unit bought from Hi-Fi Corporation. Multi zone, overhead unit with IR headphones.

In the Disco, I opted for the LR one .... speak to Riaan at LR Sandton ..... he quotes around 11.5G ...... other LR Stealers quote 17.5G ....don't ask what I paid Crying or Very sad

Not very keen on the overhead stuff cos it blocks the rear view mirror, hence the interest in the headrest screens.
I have seen a UK member that did 2 overhead units, ie. one one each side, which looks very nice. Maybe this is the way to go, but I worry about how they will stay up there when we are on the corrugated roads in Botswana.

Usually the LR accessories are hugely overpriced, so I don't bother even asking.

Prestige Audio (one of the site sponsors) do the sort of set-up you're after, obviously not a lot of use to you in RSA but it might be worth contacting them to see if they can recommend anyone over there or suggest suitable kit The End

Give Chris or Marcel at Craighall Car Radio 011 791 1997 a call ...they do custom sound, very professional and reasonable. They have built the DVD into my 110 .....presactly you are looking for.
