How in blazes do you change the Nav Disc??!!
Okay here's an odd one. Thanks to Wiggs, I have a nice shiny new Nav disc, and am all set to slap it into the D3. The manual states I should raise the seat to its highest setting, then slide it all the way forward.... which I did....
... to be greeted by the back of the Denso Nav unit (or at least, given it says Denso on it, I'm assuming it's the disc drive!
How on earth is one supposed to get a disc in there? I can just about get my hand through to the front of the unit, but the motors/controls at the front of the seat preclude being able to fit the width of a disc in the gap!

push the seat all the way back (not forward) - the drive door is on the front of the unit

Is this a joke post? If you can see the back of the unit it kinda tells you to move the seat the other way so you can get to the front 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Sorry for my sarcastic reply, it just tickled me!!
However, it appears to be another bit of stupid design, if you can see the back of the unit so clearly as in your pic, why on earth did LR not position the DVD unit the other way round?????2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

I've changed mine a couple of times and here's how......
Get the seat all the way FORWARD and high. Reach in from the back and put your hand over the top ov the unit & press the button that should be on the top right hand side of the front. Disk is ejected and then simply replace with the new one.
Easy as....
Oh just check that yoiu don't have any maps or magazines or anything silly stopping the seat from moving all the way forward.
BTW, I usually do this knealing on the floor with the rear passenger door open so I can feel & see what's going on Bodsys Brake Bible

Twas my thinking also - given access from the rear (ahem) is so simple, turning it 180 degress surely couldn't have been that difficult!L322 FFRR V8 - Gawn

Forwards, with assist from some horrid Merc Hotwheels thingie - total waste of time, the plastic cover virtually brushes the floor...
Anyways, as per Bodsy's post, I ended up giving it the reach around with the disc. Ahem. Again.
Bloody stupid bit of design - why can't it be like the RangeRover and be nice and accessible behind a little hatch in the boot?!
Which reminds me.... must write a big rant about how poo the D3 is compared to the L322.... then run.... VERY quickly... Almost as dangerous as log-burner baiting from Real Men with V8s. Trouble is, probably most of my list of things the D3 won't do is likely inaccurate with a bit of reference to the manual, but having now seen how erm... accurate the manual is, it's probably a logical paradox to try and attempt any of it.L322 FFRR V8 - Gawn
