Immobiliser (Key Re-progamming) |
|
Has anyone needed to do this ?
I have just had my D3 keys re-programmed after it failed to start. It has happened 3 times although on the first 2 times it did start after being left for some minutes and the vehicle being locked and un-locked. Last time it took the recovery guy to suggest that we disconnected the battery for a few moments and yes she fired up.
The dealer has re-programmed both keys last week and all seem OK.
Anyone had similar ?

I suspect that you may have a faulty BCU (body control unit) on the car.
The immobiliser codes are held in the BCU and need to synchromise with those in the keys to allow the car to start,
If the BCU is 'loosing' it's code that can only be one of two things
1) Communication error caused by faulty wiring
OR
2) The BCU is not retaining it's memory and needs to be replaced
