IID not reading faults
Yesterday i stupidly washed the engine bay in my D4 and got the engine warning light and red triangle with restricted performance on the way home (struggled to get over 30mph). When i plugged my iid bluetooth tool in it read no faults
However i have a cheap code reader and that read the faults no problem (turned out to just be water in the plug to the airflow meter)
On my iid tool i tried to read live values and it only came up with 2 ecus, abs and body control.
Has anybody had this and fixed it. Bit disappointed as its the first time i have needed my iid and if it wasn't for my cheap £20 eBay code reader i would have struggled to get home Previous Discos

To try the Iid tool out It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
The cheap readers have over large pins, the IID tol has smaller pins, make sure the contacts in the obd socket have not spread open so that the smaller pins on the IID cant make proper contact.
I have had this on a couple of cars now.

Was a launch code reader. (About £50 off ebay). Tried the iid again on my car and it worked fine. Disconnected airflow meter and it picked fault up straight away not sure what happened last time I used it. Anyhoo I am going to list it for sale because to be honest I have only used it once in the time I have had it and my old code reader will do any engine codes and also my other vehicles. I have access to a nanocom should I need itPrevious Discos
