If you thought D3 paint was thin |

Another shocker from the X-Trail (dis)courtesy car. I stopped brushed against a hedge avoiding a suicidal young woman in the world's widest Corsa this morning. Something I've had to do dozens of times in the Disco and the L200 with no damage to paintwork. The X-Trail now has a scratch running from front wheelarch to back so I'm going to need to get busy with various polishes before it goes back on Friday.
I looked long and hard for a section that might deal with caring for paintwork, polishing, cleaning etc but it seems this forum is lacking this essential feature, so apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.
Any recommendations for products to remove/improve a hedge scratch? On the whole it seems it's mostly hedge on the paint rather than paint on the hedge, but in a couple of places the old thumbnail is definitely detecting an absence of topcoat. I'd be happy to make it hard to spot rather than invisible. I know ScrathX is good for swirls, but would it be suitable for this?
All suggestions and offers of buffing gratefully received
Al I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The best stuff to use is Farecla G3 rubbing compound, similar to T-Cut but is water soluble, can be used by hand or by mop.

See where you're going with that CW, nice plan.
Plan C is to deliver it back to the bodyshop, douse it in petrol and set fire to it, announcing the dumbstruck employees that I've just done them a favour before collecting my D3 and driving off.
