Who ?
ME ...... that's who!!
I'm compulsive about the security and well being of my D3.
I hate parking in parking bays for fear of knocks from othe vehicles.
I hate anyone else driving it.
I hate when I have to leave it in the dealers.
When locking up I tend to have a bit of an OCD issue,
sometimes locking again when I thought I'd done it earlier.
So, D3 is being collected this morning by dealer and I was about to get my key ready in advance.
I always keep it in the same secure place ... but it wasn't there!!
After a scour of my pockets [after fitting new steering wheel last night], then the house, I couldn't find it.
Just thought I'd check if I left it in the D3 .......
....Yep .... In The Ignition !!!!
What an absolute IDIOT !!!!
D3 now won't start as battery is flat so dealer having to bring out a battery pack.
Well at least I was organised enough to check earlier rather than when the driver turned up.
I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Was changing a rear bulb last w/e with the ignition in the "2" position, so I could pump the brake pedal to check progress. Since changing a rear bulb on any Disco since 1989 has been a time-consuming and expletive-inducing exercise, I managed to flatten the battery too. Fortunately the Mini was nearby and could provide a quick boost to its big brother. No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

Once went to the car in the morning (pre-D3 days) that was parked out on the road...only to find that the passenger door was open. car key and house keys (wife had opened the door the night before) were in the door lock...
Now that is being an idiot...
(thank god for a quiet road and low crime in Lux...oh, and the fact that it was a Ford Galaxy I suppose... ) The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."
