I’m leaving the fold!
Well it all happened a bit unexpectedly today but I’ve sold my disco and it’s being picked up next week!
I hadn’t really wanted to sell the old girl but swmbo mentioned to a friend that we were thinking of selling and the next thing I knew they turned up and a deal was done! Not sure what or even if it will be replaced with as we have just recently had a new Tiguan allspace 4motion and I’ve got a company van so could manage without. I would love a D4 but I’m not risking it with the crank issues! Who knows maybe a landcruiser might be next or double cab pickup but I doubt anything LR.D3 x2 now gone

Agreed.
Yes you’ll miss her but pretty soon you get used to the lack of stress/worry/spending.

That’s the main reason del I agreed to sell didn’t want the worry of something going bang on a vehicle that’s not going to get any younger D3 x2 now gone

Difficult to get used to "other vehicles". I have always driven larger offroad vehicles. Mainly Land Cruisers and Land Rovers. Coming to the UK, I thought I'd be able to drive "normal cars" again, I tried a Tiguan, then an XC40 and couldn't get used to them. So for my sins, due to the fact that I cant justify a land cruiser here, I'm back in a disco.

I had much more stress with my Landcruiser Amazon than with any of my D3s due to the comparative lack of easily available parts and knowledge.
They don't go wrong so often but when they do...
I ended up selling the Amazon for £6k to a firm that take them out to Africa, after having both a fault with the hydraulic suspension and brakes...then got my first of 3 D3s. Getting above 20mpg was a revelation although I did miss the extra space.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto
