I think my car broker thinks I'm daft...
Chased up my car, which had been due at the dealer on 18/5 today. I'm buying through an online broker (bigger discount than I could get locally) and got this reply (which is a cut and paste from the email he'd got from the LR dealer):
"Please see the latest status - The dates next to the M numbers are the dates the vehicles are due to land with us.
The other cars are in the holding pool awaiting allocation as soon as I have a date for them I will let you know
I said "that's the wrong colour - I ordered Orkney Grey, and it's a month late"
He said (and i quote): "That's not its colour it must be the factorys technical phrase , and yes, it is a month late"
He must think I'm bloody stupid! Indus, Loire and Santorini are all LR colours. But they apparently use the wrong colour as a "technical phrase"...
And it's a month late. Easy to be wise after the event, but I'm not sure the few hundred quid saving was worth it...

Andy,
Every time I read one of your posts about this I shudder.
I hope the other options you ordered are on the car even if its the wrong colour.
What sort of come back to you have? Is it to the dealer or all thru the broker?
How do you feel about the whole thing? Do you think they are chancers? Do you think they even ordered the car you wanted or they just have this email that they punt to everyone who supposedly has a Disco order?
I hope it comes all good

He's now said he thinks the dealer hasn't updated their own system (I changed my mind on colour) but he's checking they've ordered the right one - we shall see...
I've got the order firm etc with the right options - so i'm confident it'll turn up with the right bits on (if it doesn't it'll go back!) - my main irritation is this month delay, for which there seems to be no explanation. LR custmer services say they're not aware of any delays, so it looks a bit odd. Reviews of the broker are universally good, so hopefully all will be well!

Panic over - although it looks like I'm getting a slightly different colour as it's "Corris Grey" not "Orkney" - seems Orkney's being discontinued and replaced. Wonder if anything else is changing?

To the best of my knowledge, Orkney grey is still a current colour, especially as my MY13 HSE is in Orkney Grey
I think your broker might possibly be talking Guano My17 Volvo XC90 Inscription
MY15 Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian
RGK Tiga Fx Wheelchair,
Large Alsation called Abbs
Medium blue Staffie called Piglet
Medium Alsation called Bailey

To be fair the colour name came from the dealer's system, not the broker. Apparently it's so close to Orkney as to be almost indistinguishable - I'm not terribly bothered as long as it's darkish grey.

Now, would that be light darkish grey, or dark darkish grey ?
