Why would I order a DPF?
After seeing the blingtastic 2009 Disco I am now rushing into action to get an order in now for a proper Disco i.e. pre-2009. On the options I am able to choose a £400 DPF. Are they any benefits?
It's possible that future legislation may penalise cars that don't have these, but the flipside is increased servicing costs if it requires changing at any point in the life of the vehicle. Not sure of the technology used or the lifecycle of the filter
I wouldn't bet on having a DPF fitted saving you any money from the rabid reactionary taxes and penalties that are being applied as the likes of King Newt seem to see any mitigating technology on 4x4s as an acknowledgement that they are the chariots of satan I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

don't they increase fuel consumption a bit as well?....certainly for my wifes car the sales guy steered us away from paying extra for one, as it wasn't a legal requirement ,due to the increased running costs we would see.end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
