so ... what actually happened ? looks to me like the BMW drove into the side of the Disco except I'd have expected to see the airbags ?

Is that the exhaust by the BM's front left wheel or a support put in there?

The D4 did well that momentum didn't carry it over onto its side. Or did it end up touching something at the other side to hold it upright?

I'm looking at that thinking the BM T boned the D4, or have I got that wrong? No damage to the Disco makes me thing that, but I'd expect the front of the BM to be well caved in.
