How do i know if i've got heated washer jets? |
|
I've got a 57 HSE. But the washer jets are always frozen, which tells me that i probably don't have them.

You've got heated jets.
Fuse may be blown? You using strong enough solution in your washer bottle? Heated jets are only any good if the fluid can get to them I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

You will see that the ice on the bonnet around them has melted

I've got one of them
The passenger side one works but the drivers side one doesn't, which is a pain. Have pulled the soundproofing down from the underside of the bonnet and disconnected the one that doesn't work at the plug right next to the jet. Got the circuit tester across the loom side of the plug and nothing. I was about to order a new heated jet thinking that would most likely be the problem but it doesn't look like it is.
One question though, when do they come on? Are they heating all the time or is it somehow temperature/time regulated? I.e. under what circumstances should I find a voltage accross the two wires in the plug?
Thought it was just going to be a case of ordering a new jet but looks like it might be a wiring issue somewhere
You can't see where the wires from the drivers side jet meet the wires from the passenger side jet becuase on the passenger side of the bonnet the wires from each jet go into a taped up part of the loom. Anyone got a wiring diagrm? Is it possible that the wires for each individual jet go all the way back to the fusebox or something else individually?
Minor issue I know, but very frustrating in this weather!

They are common failures, swapped mine on Wednesday. Only takes 10 mins to pop them out and replace them.
A pair cost under £12 from TLO and they are a newer version.
