I just bought a new caravan, and have a question
Its probably OK, but I just bought Elddis Crusader Sirrocco. It comes with a Winterhoff hitch stabiliser (the type that clamps the tow ball).
Is this compatible with the plug in tow bracket that I have with my D3?

e'hh yes well we had the winterhoff fitted to our Fleetwood. The detachable tow ball which is what I think you mean.?? well on our FFRR the tow ball was a smidge to small it clamped on ok but when braking and when starting off you could hear a clunk from the tow ball. Never came off though.

Supagirl, thanks for that, the thing comes with shims to adjust for undersized balls ( ) I have not collected it yet so don't know if they will be needed.
VA There are millions of cars on the road, hundreds of thousands of trucks and buses, and a few caravans that only come out 3 or 4 times a year, whats the problem? I use at justification to have a large 4x4

VA is being kind, he was really thinking "BURN IT!!!!".
I was thinking of a caravan but decided that the puppies would have far too much fun pulling it apart!

Supergirl, I had a FFRR with the same detachable tow bar, it wasn't that the tow ball was a smidge too small, the problem of the clunk is because the detachable tow ball fits into a US style square receiver and there was a lot of tolerance between the hook end piece and the reciever to allow it to fit easily. The system on D3 and RRS is different and is a much snugger fit so doesn't clunk like the FFRR as you pull way. It didn't come off because the easily stolen retaining pin was strong enough to tow a truck with! Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300

Now I can say to him did you know blah blah blah he just rolls his eyes at me and says dam forums but it's not that when he is on here trying to find something out about the motors.
