Have I got an air suspension problem ? |
|
Having owned my DIsco now for 8 months I have noticed recently that when it is parked overnight or for a long period of time the air suspension lowers. I leave the car at normal height when exiting but the next morning it has dropped.
Is this normal or is there a problem with the air suspension system.
The Disco is going into the stealers early next month to get the tailgate fixed as it will not open as per my previous post and I wondered whether to add this to the list of problems which currently is :
1) Tailgate stuck closed
2) Parking brake sticking
3) Clutch slipping
Thanks for replies

Aside from the car waking-up to level itself (the 'D3 fart' / cat repeller) the car should retain its set height. If your is heading for the bumper stops over time then something is amiss. I have left mine for months and it was still at the same height when I returned.
One would presume that loosing air would work the compressor harder so hopefully the errant leak can be found before something more expensive happens.

As to the suspension:
see this thread. It's a common problem, hard to cure as it is hard to locate the cause. On the other hand as long as the car rises ok there's nothing keeping you from moving.
