If the 3.0 TDV6 is basically the same block as the 2.7, but with the addition of twin turbos, why hasnt anybody tried going the TT route on the 2.7, as the Jag has the same setup, so should be some bits in the breakers yards by now?
And no - I'm not voluntering

Biggest issue would probably be .....
is there space to fit the second turbo ? I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

if there's two on the D4, is the engine bay that much different?

Well....they had to move a load of stuff into the second battery box on the D4 - maybe because there wasn't enough room for everything.
I've spent 20 minutes trying to come up with a clever, witty or even technical answer to say why it can't be done, and I'm stumped.....
We know that the 3.0 TDV6 has a competely different engine management and injection system to the 2.7 - who knows what was fitted to the Jag 2.7 with the twin turbos?
It's a very good question Al 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

You've have to change the ECU to be able to control and make use of both turbos. It might be possible with a remap, but I doubt it 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

the different engine management "issue" must have been overcome by the guys that have fitted the TDV6 and TDV8 into defenders?
We need Pete Bell or the guys at JE to get their spanners out over the bank holiday weekend - its going to down, so they might as well do something useful

Omex management would control all that, but not sure how it would integrate with all the other ECU controlled systems on the car. 2014 D4 XS

As James says - in a TDV6 Defender you don't need to integrate back into the gearbox, ABS, Terrain Response, etc etc etc etc etc 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Apart from engine management, maybe new exhaust manifolds, new intercooler, new air inlet box with twin air flow meters, and maybe a new radiator, pics in my gallary as I was looking at using the D4 intercooler in the D3.

Did manage to figure out if you could use the D4 intercooler? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

No I never really got round to looking properly, you could do with having a D3 & D4 side by side to see what would get in the way etc.

Wouldn't it be easier to drop your old D3 body onto a D4?

Better still - how about shoe horning a TDV8 into a D3
(if the RRS chassis and running gear is 'basically' the same as the D3 - then is should be possible, then you'd have a real mean machine)
So . . . we now need a wrecked RRS TDV8 as a donor and someone to 'lend' their D3 for a weekend (or two) RRS body whell OFF - D3 body shell ON - JOB DONE Never get mad - get even !!
06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k
