Hovis is poorly!!!
Oh no! Hovis the D4 is poorly. We've not had any problems at all until now.
Today the battery light came on and the red warning triangle with a message saying battery charging fault. Called TVLR who advised LRA.
LRA duly arrived in a transit van!!! Ran a diagnostic and it came back with a few fault codes for a software malfunction.
Drove home tonight and there was the most disgusting burning smell... Phone LRA and lovely AA man attended. Couldn't find the source of the fault but is suspicious the alternator is on it's way out...
Does anyone have any experience of this problem?

Not really, but having seen various similar posts on the forum and until someone more knowledgeable posts a more helpful response.....
Go out immediately and disconnected your battery. Now!MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added

Lovely AA man been out and there is now no odour...
Hmmm I doubt it's DPF... So hopefully not alternator- having seen where it is located!
Hovis is called Hovis because "Chicken George" on Freel2 thought my D4 looked like a bread van.
He comes from a long line if named LRs... George, Mildred, Lloyd, Eva...
Jeeeze.... No wonder i'm single!

Yes- it was plugged in across the battery and in various other places according to Mr AA everything was normal.
I don't like it when things like this happen. I'm on-call lots and really don't need this sort of worry.

You sure there is something wrong with the Disco and you ain't just trying to pull the AA man
