Still suffering from a hot right foot. The dash has to come out now to check fan motors. Waiting to hear from dealer to book in yet again. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I had the same problem, but I've now fixed this. I turned the temperature setting down.
Now I have 2 cold feet D3 Bonatti Grey TDV6
1942 Crusader Mk III with 6lbr

There is a diagnostic routine built into the heater controls,
press and hold both the econ and recirculation buttons, then turn the ignition on, once the econ LED starts flashing, release the buttons. The LED will continue flashing for a few seconds while it compares actual values with those stored (whatever that means )
Then switch the ignition off and back on again, any errors identified will be indicated by the flashing of the programmed defrost button LED and the system will attempt to recalibrate itself.
To check if the recalibration was successful, go through the whole sequence again, if it managed to recalibrate, the programmed defrost LED should not flash.... if it does... off to the dealer

And it is... for us with 'old' D3's
