gas milage will go down about 1mpg or 2mpg in the city and about 1mpg on the highway with my current mods but it's all how you drive. I haven't put on my tires yet but i will see how much that chnages it also. The rack is really what can take down the MPG and it has wind noises at 50mph and up
And I like my warn winch alot, it has never failed on me and is very fast. And now since i have a synthetic cable it's even easier to work with. But the factory winch mount takes out a little of your approach angle but is very solid05 LR3 SEV8HD-warn 9.5xp,LR lights,LR rack,LR a-frame bar, cooper stt 275/65/r18,masterpull 3/8 winchline, xm radio

The Las Vegas Land Rover dealership (702-579-0405)is completing a "G4" LR3 project and has applied a hood blackout. I don't know where they got it but I believe Chris is the person there who is working on this project.

I was scared to ask - I assume its something like black paint applied to the bonnet (US => hood) to avoid glare from itSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
Yep that's the idea, Camel Trophy Discos had it on. Been thinking of doing it on my D3The End

yep and the silver paint and sun don't mix to well, plus i plan on adding lights on the rack. so glare needs to be cut down05 LR3 SEV8HD-warn 9.5xp,LR lights,LR rack,LR a-frame bar, cooper stt 275/65/r18,masterpull 3/8 winchline, xm radio

Still none the wiser!!!
PS Just read the rest, sound like just a can of matt black paint & some masking tape is all that is needed!

Or maybe specifying Java Black when buying....
I've only had a silver car once - I love the colour (sorry, color!), and it looks great on a D3, but have you ever tried washing one on a sunny day?Disco 5 HSE Lux

I suppose you could use paint, but you'd have to do it just right so it wouldn't scab off. Mine is a matte film by 3M that a local tint company did for me. It keeps the glare from coming back off the hood.
