The 'Holy Grail' - LR approved bodyshop for repairs...? |
|
I'm looking for the 'holy grail' - an insurance company that uses an 'approved LR bodyshop' for repairs (other than LR Insurance of course). Having seen the results on my wife's Toyota after a recent repair... from a Nationwide repairer.... I'm not impressed to say the least...... took two/three returns - and its still not right.... but life's too short!..... no guarantee that LR bodyshop will be any better (as I know!) but at least it gives the car half a chance! 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

LRI uses approved shops ...not sure any others will guarantee using them tbh 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

You are entitled to have your vehicle repaired at a repairer of your choice with all insurers, they just don't tell you and press you to use their 'approved' repairers. When swmbo bumped her D3 last year I persuaded the insurers to let me repair it myself! They gave us a cheque to cover the quote for parts and went on to offer an extra £300 for my time. We didn't have to provide receipts invoices so I, of course, sourced 2nd hand parts cheaper and banked the rest

It's probably best to give them a ring for a quote tbh 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

LRI do cover off road ..see my rant thread for clarification ...it initially appears that they have gone downhill but with the clarification and the fact that the cover is far better than flux in respect of courtesy cars, other elements of the policy and original parts \ approved workshop guarantees I would still pay slightly more for their cover 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

DG I cant see why they wont cover a landrover product ie LRE TREC days
I know they are separate companies but wheres the corporate bit...if you buy a landrover you would reasonably want to offroad it....my experience has been that everyone is very wary at putting in a clear understandable form JUST WHAT IS COVERED OFFROAD
ive complained to lri and have to wait 8 weeks for a decision...in the mean time my policy is up for renewal...sorry but im offl

Agreed - not all policies are the same... I will contact RSA (broker at least) to ensure I can insist on any repairs done only at a LR approved bodyshop..... 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

That is a paid event which would not be covered by most conventional insurances 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

its not a race DG its a leasurely day offroading with landrover guides on private land....hoping to do dunkeld in june with a group on here....three weeks ago did a defender day in aid of charity cost us 25 quid so it was a paid event JUST WHERE CAN YOU GO OFFROAD WHERE YOU DONT PAY
its about time we invited insurers who offer offroad cover to publish on here the written word so we can put the cards on the table...many offer 4 x4 insurance...nuffing to do with offroad cover
