Want to know more about the spec for these vehicles and what has now been removed!
Ultimately I plan to modify for overland use. Any thoughts?
Cheers. 8)

On the basis that i've been through two during todays shift, what would you like to know?
Off the top of my head, you've got an extra hole in the roof from the lightbar, the grille beacons are responisble for the holes in the grille, you will probably still have the old flashing read red repeaters mounted in the rear bumper, that Wiggs will probably be interested in, as well as a few small screw holes where the radio handset was mounted inside the car.
Aside from that, and the second battery, you should have a pretty standard D3.
Unless it's vrm ends UFB, in which case you should have a pretty substantial repair job on the rear end.

You think they last long enough to make it to the glovebox?

I was having a McDonalds fine dining experience the other day at the motorway services and a HA D3 pulled up next to me to enjoy there break. We did some gadget comparisons, but I won when I showed them the TV I could watch while eating mine .
They actually didn't have any doughnuts though

Are you sure they were HATO's?
No doughnuts...? Could be a newbie I suppose.
Anyway, where's the OP with his list of questions?

UFB was 'violated' by a Mondeo during the snow in February. It'd been absolutely spot on all night when we nearly shut the M62 due to the poor weather, then the early shift came on and let it get wiped out by an out of control car. We had words over their choice of parking spot...
Still, after six weeks in the bodyshop, and me slumming it in a Land C*****r, we finally got it back, Permagrin was restored, teddy put back in the cot and it was taken out to play

Highways Agency Spec D3
Hi All,
Like “Disco3def†I too have bought an ex-HA vehicle - a 57 Plate with 108,000 miles. It runs OK and has most of the extra holes & grommets described by “HA7225†but there are no marks on the grille or rear bumper from strobes?
However what it does have is an extra red light and engine icon down on the, normally blank, emergency release plate behind the EPB lever - see photo - [img] (hopefully if I can find how to attach it to this, my 1st ever post).
So can “HA7225â€, or any one else please tell me what this is for?
Thanks
Ps – If it had a 2nd battery - Where would I find it ? - Cheers

Welcome REVA51, no idea re light but someone should be along that knows. HA D3s no good up here (SE of Inverness) as we'd loose it in the snow!!!
Must be a picture here somewhere but couldn't find one. Usually find it under the bonnet. There's a cover at the back of the engine bay on the drivers side and they normally get put under there.

Mine has a hole there - probably the run-lock button & light. Part of the modified electrics to bypass the ignition so the engine can be left running without the keys in; used my most emergency service vehicles

Hi All,
Thanks for the welcome and the respone's to my question.
In Particular Thanks DAVE VX for the comprehensive reply and the link to the wiring diagram etc.
Not sure mine has an actual button as I've tried pressing it and does not seem to move. I'll go outside and give it a go in a few minutes.
It makes morse sense now if its an 'after market item' because when I asked some of the guys in my local LR dealer they did not have a clue and after we all trekked outside to look at the offending item they claimed to have never seen one before. However they said they only supplied the basic D3's for the HA contract and then they delivered them over to a company in Telford to do the bespoke wiring etc for the HA.
Hopefully this links to the photo I managed to insert in My Gallery:

Another question did the HA have a push bar on the front for moving dead vehicles ? I remember seeing a D3 on the M6 a while back with a big rubber padded bull bar thing but cannot recall if it was HA or West Mids police. I ask because mine does not have the removal cover under the front bumper, its missing.
