High praise for my D3

After a lot of bitching about my car and the problems I experienced in the first month or so of owning it, I feel obliged to post some words of encouragement for anyone thinking that the D3 is trouble

I had a turbo replacement about two weeks ago and fitted a Maxxraxx bikerack on my removable towbar on the same day.

That night we set off to Germany and in the last 10 days travelled over 2000 miles without it missing a beat.

Fuel consumption was good with the caravan attached - 18 mpg and over 25 mpg coming back without it.

Well done LR. This car is truly the best one I have ever owned and other than a Testarossa I had a play with, the best car I have ever driven as well!

Does the lack of caravan on the return journey indicate premature failure of the towbar? Rolling Eyes bet the vehicle behind was impressed Laughing Laughing

Have to admit the same. I had problems with mine when it broke down on the day I picked it up .. then again a few days later when collecting it for the second time .. put me on a huge downer. However 2 months and 3000 trouble free miles later its all forgotten and I am back in love. Its the first time in my life a car has been more to me than just a car ... I look forward to getting into each day and it still takes my breath away when I catch it sometimes from the window at work or home.

I suppose i should have mentioned that I intentionally left the caravan onsite in Germany ......... although thanks to Incompetus Maximus it has fallen off the towbar once .......

Does anyone know how to stop your face from hurting due to the permagrin?

I agree with Kieron .... I have never looked forward to driving a car more, and despite being in the office for weeks now, people keep telling how good it looks ......innit great!!!!!

10,

I think anti-mobile chicane ECU kicked in on the journey back, hence the mpg improvement. Wink

And, how could a fiat ever compare with a LR?

stop hiding your BMW bigottry behind the thin veneer of the Disco you are driving.

If you have a problem with either caravans or ferraris then that is your problem

As Michael proved last sunday, there is no substitute for class.

Forza Ferrari !

Oooo - handbags away

To be fair to mxgeldar7, neo's comparison should have been between Fiat and Ford rather than Fiat and LR! Wink

In this case, Ford still wins!

And to be fair to neo - all BMW's are ugly now!

Marky,

Ferrari's are a 'poor' mans lambo or bugatti Smile

Caravans just remind me of snail, which I believe the French are quite fond of! 8)

As for the 1 race that schuey has won this season, due to tactical error on Renaults part, granted, I would hardly laud it up - long way to go in the season.......and Ferrari should win at Imola, it is on there doorstep.

BMW vs Ford - Easy, one is in profit and making money, the other one is Ford, NEXT!

//M - Its a Fast Word. Twisted Evil

Danny.

Steve,

Mark can try and wind me up, but he knows better............Bay Emm Vay!

I don't mean to dampen the spirits of the purist Ferrari lover but it has just been announced that Delphi are going to make compressor parts for the new Ferrari 599 GTB suspension.

I don't think I need to remind some of you that Delphi also make the air suspension parts for the Disco 3.

Shocked
