You will note from the first of the last two pictures, I trimmed the inside edges off two posts to allow the ballast to fit,

Fitted mine today and works a treat
I located them in the same place CG did - pretty easy job once I'd got the dremel out and made a nice secure home for the ballasts.
A couple of tips for those following after:
1. When connecting up the bulbs, red goes to blue and black goes to brown. Not what I guessed at first...
2. Try to find a way of drilling the holes (especially the big 25mm one) so that you don't fill the inside of the headlights with It took me ages to jiggle all the swarf out of the first one I did 2001 D2 GS (I must be mad!)

Ordered yesterday lunch time and the kit arrived 1st thing this morning
Outstanding service , nice layout of kit of which came in a nice box with good clear instruction booklet .
Have fitted the nearside so as i'm not using the D3 tonight I will get some comparison pics of the old halogen verses the H7R kit before fitting the offside tomorrow.
Once again Ian , thanks for such brilliant service

Calling all those with Anti glare bulbs
Hi,
Very interested in this kit with Anti-glare bulbs.
Do the anti glare bulbs fill the hole light cluster of just half of it when the bulb is lit?
I only ask because looking at the HIDS4U gallery, they have pictures which suggest so (half lit). That looks a bit odd.
I don't have a Range rover or alike. I have an Audi with headlights that are a lot more recessed. I don't suppose that if the light setting was lowest (level), it wouldn't give so much glare? if any :S
Thanks,
Chris.

sorry for slow relply
When a H7 bulb is illuminated it looks to fill the whole bowl but its only part filling it. the main light is in the top half. try taping out or putting your hand over the lense and you see it does not change the beam patter nor light output.
the glare is called by the extra brightness that is created by the hid 7 bulb. same happens with a 100w bulb but it has less scatter than the hid.
our bulbs block the light from the bottom
it works the same way as a H4 bulb. this has a shield located under the low beam filament. the high beam filament doesnt have this - thats why low beam only half of bowl is illuminated and on main whole bowl is illuminated.
Every headlamp that is not projector and retrofitted with hid bulbs should have the R that we make - no one else has these and without them you will glare everyone
take a look at the laguna or mercs or xc90 that have reflector hid - you can see no light in bottom of bowl
